Temperature extremes and blood sugar!

Friday Fact: hot and cold temperatures can make blood sugar less predictable and more difficult to control. They can alter how quickly the body uses energy, the body’s ability to regulate itself and can mask the signs of hypoglycemia. Patients and caregivers see this as the seasons change, as well as with more short-term changes in the patient’s environment— whether it is a change in the weather or something like a warm bath or cold swim.
