Huge congratulations to Krissie Rothermel, mom to a GSD1b warrior, for conquering the Boston Marathon on behalf of Sophie’s Hope Foundation and CureGSD1b! This was our 5th year with a charity bib in Boston, and Krissie didn’t just run the miles—she raised over $11,000 to fuel research and support for the GSD1b community.
In ultra‑rare diseases like GSD1b, it is often families themselves who literally put their bodies on the line to move the needle for patients. Efforts like Krissie’s are not only deeply inspiring, they are absolutely essential to driving progress in treatments and care.
